Dana Teplitsky is Augury’s new Chief People Officer. She joins from Riskified, a pioneer in AI-powered fraud and risk intelligence, where she led people strategy. She previously headed HR at New York Public Radio and MongoDB. At Augury she leads people strategy globally with a focus on building and retaining high performing teams, developing leaders, and keeping one culture strong across four regions and many time zones. Here’s Dana on what drew her to Augury and how she’s thinking about the work ahead.
You’re new to manufacturing. What made you say yes to Augury?
A few things came together. First, I wanted to join a global company that was expanding its footprint, because that’s work I’ve done before and love doing. Augury’s roots in Israel were part of the draw, too. I admire the pace, intellect, and resilience that come out of that ecosystem.
Second, the values. In every conversation with Augury’s leadership, it was clear they wanted to build a culture rooted in transparency and in giving people real ownership of hard, interesting problems. People First is one of Augury’s stated values, and it was obvious how much they meant it. We had alignment about what matters.
Then there’s the product. I’m drawn to companies that are transforming an industry, and Augury is doing that in AI and manufacturing. I’d never worked in manufacturing before, but once I dug in, I found it fascinating.
Finally, the people. This role is a chance to build alongside a leadership team and colleagues who are experts in their field: sharp, driven, ambitious, and genuinely excited about what’s next.
Augury has been around for 15 years but still moves with real urgency. What does that mean for how you build a team?
Early-stage tech is about building and scaling fast. Large, established tech has everything in place, but it can move more slowly. Augury sits somewhere in between. We have the experience of an established company, yet internally, we move quickly. People here want to keep innovating and leading the market.
That means balancing two things at once. There’s real momentum to build on right now: a strong mission, product-market fit, talented people, and execution credibility. The work ahead is introducing clarity and scalable systems without losing the speed, accountability, and culture that got us here. Shaping a people strategy that supports both is the fun part.
Augury’s teams span the US, Israel, Europe, and India. How do you build one shared culture across all of those time zones?
It starts with a shared mission. When everyone understands where Augury is going and is aligned on the roadmap, distributed teams feel closer.
From there, it’s about communication. For example, an engineer in Israel understands the impact of their team’s work, but they may not hear how US customers feel about the product they built or how a sales rep talks about it. The more we connect those dots, the more people feel part of something bigger than their day-to-day.
Having leadership in every location, including India, is an intentional choice, and it helps bridge any gaps.
Manufacturers have more open roles than skilled people to fill them. How does Augury’s mission connect to the people side of that story?
The AI Augury builds is additive. It helps manufacturing teams make the best use of their time. At Augury’s recent customer event, I heard from people who could finally leave the floor and go home to their families, confident their critical machines were covered. That’s a real shift in how people work.
Helping teams make the most of their time is a people-first challenge, and customers get it. Augury is focused on giving people the information they need to be more successful in their roles.
You’ve talked with Augurians across every department in your first month. What does it look like when people do the best work of their careers?
People want a north star. When they know where the company is going, how their work contributes, and they feel challenged and are growing, they show up all in.
I heard that from almost every person I talked to. People here wake up wanting to solve tough problems. They’re excited about the company’s momentum. That’s the kind of place people want to stay.
What’s one thing you hope every Augurian feels a year from now?
I hope people believe in Augury and what we’re trying to achieve. When you believe in the company you work for, you show up differently. That belief comes from a lot of places: a manager who supports you along the way, teammates you collaborate with, and clear communication from leaders. I really hope every Augurian feels that.
