About The Position
As a Senior Backend Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in connecting the industrial world to our AI-powered platform. You will own the design and development of scalable, production-grade integrations that enable customers to seamlessly connect systems such as CMMS, ERP, MES, historians, SCADA, IoT platforms, and other enterprise applications.
This is more than building APIs and connectors. You will help create the foundation that allows operational and industrial data to flow reliably across complex environments, unlocking the insights and automation that power our products and AI agents.
You will work at the intersection of backend engineering, data integration, and customer-facing problem solving, designing robust connectivity solutions, building reusable integration frameworks, and helping scale an ecosystem that supports enterprise customers globally.
The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering fundamentals with a practical integration mindset. They are comfortable navigating ambiguity, solving complex technical challenges, and collaborating across Product, Engineering, Data, Solutions, and Customer teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions that drive real customer value.
A Day In Your Life
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend connectors to external systems such as CMMS, ERP, MES, historians, and industrial software platforms
- Develop integrations using REST APIs, webhooks, file-based interfaces, and other enterprise connectivity patterns
- Build data ingestion, transformation, normalization, and synchronization pipelines between external systems and internal platforms
- Handle authentication and connectivity patterns, including OAuth, API keys, service accounts, SFTP, and related enterprise mechanisms
- Improve connector reliability through retries, monitoring, logging, alerting, and failure recovery mechanisms
- Work closely with Product, Data Engineering, Solutions, and customer teams to understand integration requirements and edge cases
- Define reusable connector frameworks, integration standards, and backend architecture patterns to reduce one-off work
- Troubleshoot production issues across APIs, mappings, source system behavior, and customer environments
- Support the development of internal tools and configuration layers that simplify onboarding and deployment of new integrations
What You Bring
- 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering
- Proven experience building and maintaining production integrations with third-party systems
- Strong experience in one or more backend languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, Go, or C#
- Strong understanding of API integration patterns including REST, webhooks, JSON, XML, and authentication flows
- Experience with asynchronous processing, background jobs, queues, retries, and error handling
- Experience designing data mapping and transformation logic across different source system schemas
- Ability to work independently and drive technical solutions in ambiguous, cross-functional problem spaces
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering and non-engineering stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating with CMMS, ERP, MES, historian ,AVEVA, SCADA, or industrial platforms
- Familiarity with middleware and integration platforms such as Boomi, MuleSoft, Workato, or similar tools
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and services on AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Experience with event-driven systems, messaging, and workflow orchestration
- Familiarity with databases, ETL pipelines, and data platform concepts
- Experience in B2B SaaS, industrial IoT, manufacturing, or enterprise software environments
